Janie C. Béïque

Co-President 2008-2010

Janie C. Béïque joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2000. Prior to her appointment as Senior Vice-President, Natural Resources, Industries and Consumer Goods, Me Béïque was Senior Vice-President, New Economy, and before that, Vice-President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary, where she was responsible for legal and regulatory issues and government matters. She has also served on the Fonds’ Management Committee.

Me Beïque currently sits on several Fonds committees, including the Investment Management Committee. She is a board director of Canada’s Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA) and a member of the Autorité des marchés financiers’ advisory committee on SME financing and of the Teralys Capital investment committee. Lastly, she sits on the jury of the Grand Prix québécois de la qualité awards. In the past, Me Beïque was co-chair of Réseau Capital and a member of its executive committee and board. She also served on the boards of BioQuébec and Montréal InVivo.

Prior to her arrival at the Fonds, Me Beïque worked for a prominent law firm. In 2005, she was named one of Canada’s top corporate lawyers under 40 by Lexpert magazine. Holder of a law degree from Université de Montréal, Me Beïque has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1991 and is registered on the roll of the Ordre.
