Graduated from HEC, he won a scholarship to York University, where he graduated first in his MBA class. From the beginning, he gives himself a mission to build confidence and expertise of new entrepreneurial spirit of the Quebecers.

In 1972, he formed Devcom Management, a company dedicated to sales promotion and management training, which he sold successfully in 1982. Before joining Novacap in 1985, Jean-Pierre was co-owner of Denis Equipment, a manufacturer of forestry equipment.

In 1985, Jean-Pierre becomes partner of Marc Beauchamp at Novacap, a leader in private equity and venture capital. Its strategy is to invest in markets leaders and to help these companies become the dominant players in their industry by means of internal growth, strategic alliances and acquisitions.

Founder and President of Réseau Capital in 1989, Jean-Pierre contributed to the development of a dynamic association intervening in the private equity investment sector.Jean-Pierre willingly involved himself in professional and charitable organisations, such as La Fondation de la rue à la Réussite and Le Boulot Vers and his professional successes have created countless jobs. Beyond his achievements, Jean-Pierre’s success is his family. He was an exemplary husband and father.

Jean-Pierre Chartrand, unfortunately, left us in April 2008. Passionate, a true visionary and persevering, he has been an inspiration and had a great influence on his family, friends, both socially and professionally, and all the people surrounding him.
