
Thomas Park
Vice-President, Operations & Strategy, BDC Capital
Thomas Park is Vice-President, Operations & Strategy at BDC Capital since 2016. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of operational management and strategic planning for BDC Capital. In 2019, he provided support to the Corporate Strategy & Initiatives team to help define and plan BDC’s digital transformation strategy.
Before joining BDC, Thomas was Program Officer with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he supported the leadership team in developing and executing their family planning initiative. Prior to this, he served as Senior Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Company. While there, he worked extensively in Francophone and Anglophone Africa, Indonesia and Pakistan, particularly on public health system transformation strategies and operations. He previously worked at the United Nations Assistance to the Khmer Rouge Trials, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo and the International Criminal Court. He began his career as an associate, focusing on international and corporate financial transactions and mergers and acquisitions at McCarthy Tétrault LLP.
Thomas currently sits on McGill University’s Global Health Programs International Advisory Board. He is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at Ryerson University’s Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science and the Banff Forum. He is also an alumnus of the Governor General’s Leadership Conference. In 2017, Thomas was recognized as one of the country’s outstanding young leaders in Canada’s Top 40 under 40.
Thomas holds bachelor’s degrees in Civil and Common Law from McGill University, a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School at Harvard University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
